Privacy Policy

This policy explains what ZipperSocks (operated by First Man Ventures LLC, 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801) collects when you use zippersocks.com, why, and the choices you have. We sell socks; we do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Orders: your name, email, phone, shipping and billing address, what you bought and the order total. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and never reach our servers; Stripe tells us the card brand, last four digits and whether a card was saved for the one-click offer after checkout.
Email signups: your email address, and your mobile number only if you add it and tick the text-message box. We keep the exact consent wording you agreed to.
Messages: what you send through the contact form or website chat, with the contact details you give.
Your cart: stored in your own browser (local storage) until you check out or clear it.
Technical data: a one-way hashed version of your IP address for spam and fraud protection, your browser type, and how you found us (for example a search engine or an ad link with UTM tags).

How we use it

To take payment, ship your order, send order and shipping emails, and handle returns and refunds.
To answer your questions.
To send marketing email if you signed up, and texts only if you opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link; reply STOP to any text to opt out.
To prevent fraud and spam, and to understand which pages and ads work so we can improve the site.

Who we share it with

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

Stripe (payments and fraud checks).
Our manufacturer or fulfilment partner (your name, shipping address, phone and the items, so they can ship your order), and the shipping carrier.
Railway (hosts this website and its database) and Cloudflare (domain name system and email forwarding).
Brevo (sends our emails) and Slack (internal order and message alerts for our team).
Google Tag Manager (loads our measurement tags).
Google Analytics (anonymous visit and purchase statistics; we also send purchase events from our server so they are counted accurately, without your name or contact details).
Meta (Facebook and Instagram) (the Meta Pixel and Conversions API measure ad results; contact details are sent only as one-way hashes).
First-party measurement: the Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics scripts are served from this website's own domain, and Google Analytics measurement requests are sent to this website first. Our server passes each request on to Google unchanged, together with your IP address and browser type (which Google uses for approximate location and device type), and does not store it. Our server also re-sets the measurement cookies these tools have already created (Google's _ga and _gcl_ ad-click cookies, Meta's _fbp and _fbc) with the same values, so they can last up to 400 days instead of being cut short by some browsers. If you arrive from a Meta ad, it also stores the ad click id from the link in the _fbc cookie. It creates no other identifier, and blocking or deleting cookies works the same way.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our customers and business from fraud.

Cookies and local storage

Your cart, your welcome code and whether you have seen our signup window are kept in your browser's local storage. The analytics and advertising tools listed above set their own cookies to recognise repeat visits and measure ads. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the shop still works. Our admin area uses one sign-in cookie for staff only.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require (generally up to seven years). Email signups stay until you unsubscribe. Chat and contact messages are kept for up to two years. Hashed IP data for spam protection is deleted after one day.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to stop marketing to you. Residents of states such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others have these rights by law, and we offer them to every customer. To make a request, email contact@zippersocks.com. We will confirm your identity using your order email and reply within 30 days. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined in California law, other than the ad measurement described above, which you can limit in your browser and in your Meta ad settings.

Children

This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
