Zipper socks or the firm knee-high?
Both are graduated, knee-high and made in the same factory. Pick by how you put them on, how firm you want them and the size you need.
| Feature | Zip-up socks | Firm knee-high |
|---|---|---|
| Putting them on | Unzip, slide your foot in, zip up while seated | Pull on like a snug sock; rubber gloves help |
| Compression | Graduated 15-20 mmHg, everyday level | Firmer: graduated, 20-30 mmHg class |
| Sizes | M to 3XL, calves 8 to 20 inches | Ten sizes, S to 7XL, for extra-wide calves |
| Toe | Open or closed | Closed, reinforced heel and toe |
| Best for | Stiff hands, a sore back, or anyone who dreads the heel | Wide calves and people who want firmer support |
Sized for wide calves
Most knee-highs stop at a 3XL. This one runs in ten sizes from S to 7XL, so a wide or full calf gets a sock that fits instead of one that digs in at the top.
Choose by the widest part of your calf, measured in the morning while you sit with your foot flat. Until our full size chart is posted, email us your calf and ankle measurements and we will tell you your size.

Questions about the firm knee-high
Who is the firm knee-high for?
People who want firmer compression than our 15-20 mmHg zipper socks, need a wider size, and can pull a snug sock on by themselves. If getting a tight sock over your heel is hard, choose our zipper socks instead: same idea, no pulling.
What does "20-30 mmHg class" mean?
It is firm graduated compression, strongest at the ankle and easing toward the knee. The factory rates this sock in the European class 23-32 mmHg; we describe it as the 20-30 mmHg class until our own lab test report is in. Firm compression is a step up from everyday socks, so ask your doctor before you start wearing it.
Which size do I need?
Ten sizes, S to 7XL, chosen by the widest part of your calf. Measure in the morning, sitting with your foot flat. Until our full size chart is posted, email us your calf and ankle measurements and we will tell you your size.
How do I put on a firm compression sock?
Sit down. Reach inside, hold the heel and turn the sock inside out down to the heel. Slide your foot in as far as the heel, then ease the rest up your leg a little at a time instead of pulling from the top. Rubber gloves give a better grip on the fabric.
Is firm compression safe for me?
Compression socks are not right for everyone. If you have peripheral arterial disease, poor circulation in the legs, heart failure, skin infections or open wounds, or reduced feeling in your feet, talk to your doctor before wearing them. Check with your doctor first. Compression socks are not for people with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) or poor circulation in the legs.
How do I wash them?
Turn them inside out, put them in a mesh wash bag and machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Hang to dry. Skip the dryer, bleach and fabric softener so the stretch lasts longer.
What is your guarantee?
Wear them, wash them, and if they are not right for you within 90 days of delivery, we refund you. We send a free US return label. No restocking fee, and packs are covered too.
How long until my order arrives?
Most orders arrive in 8 to 15 business days. You get a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.
